We're so excited to announce a partnership with the Post Landfill Action Network!
Their mission: "The Post-Landfill Action Network cultivates, educates, and inspires the student-led zero waste movement. We inform students about the waste crisis and equip them with the necessary skills and resources to implement solutions to waste in their campus communities. PLAN empowers our generation to be changemakers."
We are kicking off this partnership by participating in PLAN's Points of Intervention Tour that focuses on how we can intervene at the five key points along the Linear Consumption Economy Model: Resisting at extraction, Renewing at production, Redesigning at Distribution, Repairing and using at Consumption, and finally Reclaiming at disposal.
The partnership will be beneficial to the WashU community by connecting us to dozens of other like-minded universities in terms of sustainable initiatives, securing us spots at the Students for Zero Waste Conference, as well as pushing our national recognition as a top tier University in the field of Environmental Justice.
It all started when…
Students from the University of New Hampshire decided that sustainable move-in and move-out should exist at every university. PLAN was born to unite students on a national scale (and now international with one partner school in Canada) for zero waste.
Us at SWAP are eager to extend our reach in the community of sustainability across college campuses world-wide, and cannot wait to continue to engage with PLAN.
